A wife, mother of three, follower of Christ and erstwhile nurse, Kristen is a truth teller. She pulls no punches about the game changing love of Christ. Kristen has a passion to share the victories and difficulties we encounter while pursuing Christ’s purpose and joy in our lives. She deeply believes we need one another as women, as sisters and as way finders traveling this world together.
Graduating from CSU Chico, School of Nursing led Kristen to a career in Pediatric Nursing which proved the perfect match for her longing to teach and encourage parents and children alike. She spent 5 years after her third child was born homeschooling all 3 children and this last year sent them back to public school through a local charter program.
Kristen was born a raised in Placerville, CA and while she attempted to escape in her youth, she found herself drawn back by family when it was time to start a family. This season of child rearing has been the most wonderfully redemptive and painfully refining of her life thus far.
Kristen will be opening on Friday night with Just Be Messy.
At age 11, Faye gave her heart to Christ and at the same time, to Africa. She never turned back. She attended Columbia International University in South Carolina, taught in the public schools, and is a gifted speaker and soloist. She sailed to Africa, single, and then five years later she met and married the love of her life, Don McFarland. Together they served the Lord in missions in 25 countries and four continents. They pastored in the east, midwest and west. Then in the leading of the Lord they established the Coaching Ministry at Foothills Church. In 2014, the Lord took her beloved Don HOME to Glory. Since then Faye has continued to serve, leading several weekly Bible studies in the area, counseling, and making overseas trips for ministry. Her love for the Word of God and training others to serve Him continues to be the driving force of her life. Faye will be speaking on Saturday morning challenging us to Just Be Faithful.
Speaker, teacher, and author, Nancy Curtis is known for her quick wit as well as her touching and powerful messages. Because she knows the Bible to be the inerrant word of God as well as the most fascinating, profound, and practical book ever written, she loves identifying its treasures and sharing them with others. She has her audiences laughing one minute, dabbing their eyes the next, and leaving with a sense that they’ve been entertained as well as inspired and challenged.
Nancy brings a wealth of experience to the platform, from years of walking with the Lord, living all over the Unites States, and traveling abroad including a trip to the Holy Land. With performer Renee Bondi, she has written two books: The Last Dance but Not the Last Song, Renee’s autobiography, and Still, I Will Praise.
A graduate of the University of North Texas, Nancy taught secondary English and publications in private and Christian schools for 20 years. However, she and her husband Mike would say that their most important achievement is their family. They have two daughters — Kim Silva, a graduate of USC, and Heather-Lynn O’Mara, a graduate of APU — and six “captivating” grandchildren.
Nancy will share on Saturday evening and Sunday morning: Just Be Flexible and Just Be Courageous.
