Taking Care of our Local Community
This summer, we will be updating our gym space. Unfortunately, the Senior Nutrition Program will be closed during renovation ( June 24-Aug 5) to allow construction workers access to update lighting, insulation, sheetrock and paint. We look forward to serving lunch again in our newly renovated space starting August 6th. Thank you for your patience.
The Senior Nutrition Program is to serve healthy, fresh, nutritious, low-cost meals to Seniors ages 65 and above in a safe environment. We provide lunch every Tuesday and Thursday at 12pm on our Merrychase Campus. A $3.00 donation is suggested but no one will be turned away. If you have any questions please feel free to stop by the church office or give us a call.
We have a program to help single moms and families who are struggling with homelessness or are at risk of losing their housing. Our goal is to provide housing assistance, spiritual encouragement, mentoring, and sometimes job training or coaching. All funds for the ministry are provided by Men of the Foothills Men’s Ministry, and their annual fundraising efforts.

Homeless & Prison Ministry:
Powerhouse Ministries in Folsom
“Powerhouse runs a range of programs from a Community Care Center to ‘Ignite,’ a youth ministry. Powerhouse offers a place of sanctuary, support and love to those in need and at risk. At the Powerhouse Transformation Center, women and their children have the opportunity to leave addiction and homelessness behind forever and embark on a faith-filled journey to wholeness and strength — to a new life.”
Without passing judgment, and in a spirit of love and hospitality, Loaves & Fishes feeds the hungry and shelters the homeless. We provide an oasis of welcome, safety, and cleanliness for homeless men, women and children seeking survival services.
We recognize the dignity and spiritual destiny of each person, and hope by our attitude of hospitality and love, to nourish not only the physical needs of those who come to Loaves & Fishes, but also their spiritual need for love, acceptance, respect, and friendship.

…and unto all nations…
We have developed a partnership with Alliance workers living in Tres Cantos, Spain. The Westegrens put on several events designed to create and develop relationships with the families in the community. Events like Thanksgiving dinner, Valentines Day dinner, English Camp, and youth groups are all ways that the Westegrens are serving the families of Tres Cantos. We have sent teams to work at the English Camp for three summers now and look forward to sending more teams in the future.
South of the border is also a thrust for the CPD in that it is a great way to “get your feet wet” in missions and relatively inexpensive. Over the past few years we have been developing a Ministry Base just over the border. We are now extending invitations for senior pastors, youth pastors and church missions leaders/teams to come and see what is happening there. We believe this Base will provide a great opportunity for people of all ages to experience doing missions in a place that is safe, inexpensive and not too far from home.
